TREASURE TROVE
There is no stopping Ali Z

The actor has been keeping the media buzzing, first with the trailer launch of his upcoming flick Teefa In Trouble and then the video launch of one of its songs – Item Number. Starring Ali Zafar and Maya Ali in the lead roles, the film has already been deemed promising. The song has been sung and penned by Ali himself, and Aima Baig, and the video shows Teefa (Ali) and Anya (Maya) dancing to a peppy number. Not only is the tune catchy but it also cleverly hints at the use of item numbers in films. Ali also outshines his co-star while shaking his legs in the video. Less than a week after the song released, the video already crossed four million views on YouTube.

Parwaaz Hai Junoon team gets called out for plagiarising poster of a Hollywood movie

Looks like bad luck surrounds the film already. First the upcoming movie’s released was pushed from Eidul Fitr to Eidul Azha while simultaneously its makers got served with a notice by one of the film’s costume designers. And now, Parwaaz Hai Junoon has became somewhat of a laughing stock online when one of the cast members, actress Kubra Khan released a new poster featuring her and Shaz Khan on it and her followers immediately realised the eerie similarities between the said poster and one of the 2010 Hollywood flick Letters To Juliet. Many criticised the move by saying that if the local industry wants to be appreciated and promoted for its efforts, they should present original ideas instead of ones taken from Bollywood or Hollywood films, while some simply made fun of the fact.

Rahat and Nida Nusrat prepare to battle it out for NFAK’s songs

The daughter of the late Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan says she will take legal action against those who are involved in infringement of copyrights of the iconic singer’s songs. “I am the only heir of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and the copyrights of my father’s songs are only with me,” stated Nida Nusrat. Speaking at a news conference at the Lahore Press Club, she shared that people took advantage of the fact that she moved to Canada after NFAK’s demise. Her return 20 years later has seemingly made her cousin Rahat Fateh Ali Khan very uncomfortable. Rahat responded to Nida’s statements by clarifying, “I am the successor (janasheen) and adopted son of my ustad and uncle. Why would I need any permission? It’s my family’s name and legacy which I’m carrying and as a tradition, tomorrow my brother and son will carry it.” But Nida is convinced otherwise. “Everyone, including Rahat, who tried to benefit from my father’s music, will be held accountable.”
