PARIS FASHION WEEK: HAUTE COUTURE A/W 2018

The Fall/Winter edition of Haute Couture fashion show in Paris, showcased spellbinding collections that boasted unbridled femininity, creativity, sartorial eloquence and refined fashion of modern times. Once again, the powerhouse brands unleashed their creative works, and manifested their creative best for the spectators to revel in. The finest of Parisian, Italian, Lebanese, Dutch designers, namely Alexis Mabille, Azzaro Couture, Christian Dior, Elie Saab, Fendi, Zuhair Murad and more presented their haute couture, of the highest fashion refinery, with fluid dresses setting free pace, flowing silhouettes and intricate detailing, instilling a surreal mood in the haute couture show. Here we take a look at a few highlights from the fashion show. Alexis Mabille, the French fashion maestro gave the fashion week a gust of fresh air, as the models breezed in flaunting bright colours that channeled grace, sophistication and sensuality. Giorgio Armani’s experimentations with the silhouettes, cuts and fabric were something to behold, as the designer emanated unstrained femininity through his creations. The Russian fashion designer, Ulyana Sergeenko’s creations exuded freshness with silhouettes spanning the moments in a woman’s day. Elie Saab, too, showcased elegant and sensual collections with a plethora of dresses and slits, as well as animal-print creations for a bolder look. A profound play with volumes, frills and pastel shades made the highlight on Christian Dior’s runway, with a timeless collection of the utmost lightness. While the Italian fashion label Fendi played with textures in its haute couture ensembles, overlaying see-through bodices with fur trimmings and boasting shimmering, scaly skirts.
