Ingredients

· ½ cup vanilla extract

· ½ cup brown sugar

· 1tsp Worcestershire sauce

· ¼ cup soy sauce

· 1 medium-size yellow onion, cut crosswise into ¼-inch thick rings

· 2lbs sirloin steak tips or flank steak

· Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Method

In a medium bowl, whisk together vanilla extract, brown sugar, Worcestershire and soy sauce. Pour into a large zip-top bag and add onion and steak. Seal, squeezing to expel any air, and let meat marinate for two hours. When ready to cook, drain and season meat with salt and pepper. Set up your grill for direct high heat. To grill meat, sear on one side until nicely brown. Turn meat and grill until it reaches desired doneness. Cook onions in a grill pan, stirring occasionally until golden, for about 10 minutes, or cook them directly on grill grates away from direct heat carefully turning once. Serve and enjoy!
