An intricate and unique stone carving on a grave at Chaukhandi tombs in Makli, Sindh can be seen here. The carvings comprise of jewellery, like earrings, necklace and bangles which marks this out as a woman’s grave. Dating back to almost 1,300 years, Chaukhandi tombs contain 25 cemeteries making the ground a breathtaking display of architecture and the largest necropolis of the world. The graves are unique in the whole Islamic world for its architecture embellished with geometric patterns cut in sandstone.
