TOP CELEBRITIES with food items named after them

Food Business

The popularity enjoyed by celebrities is all-pervasive, so much so that some of them have dishes and drinks after them. A recent example would be a popular café in London that has named one of its beverages after Vicky Donor actor Yami Gautam.

But of course, she is not the only one. As compiled from Mid-day, here are other Bollywood celebrities who, strange as it may seem, have food items named after them.

Priyanka Chopra

Piggy Chops became the second Bollywood actor to have a milkshake named after her. This milkshake is made using banana, almonds and caramel sauce with vanilla ice cream and a splash of ginseng drink.

Huma Qureshi

Amused by how picky Qureshi is when it comes to ordering food while abroad, a restaurant in Italy decided to name a dish after her usual choice. Titled ‘Huma Qureshi’s Favourite,’ this food item has assorted vegetables cooked with minimum oil.

Sonam Kapoor

This Kapoor beauty has a special cake named after her. On her 25th birthday, a mango blueberry cake made by a Mumbai-based confectionary – stuffed with oatmeal and real fruits – was named the Sonam Special. Interestingly, the cake has no preservatives or extra sugar in it.

Sanjay Dutt

Chicken Sanju Baba, was named after the actor paid a visit to an Indian restaurant. It turns out that he had suggested a recipe to the owner of the place who then added it to the menu.

Kareena Kapoor

Bebo is said to have a soft corner for pizzas. That’s why, when an Italian joint set up shop in Delhi, it came up with one called Kareena Kapoor Size-Zero Pizza.

This was during the time of Bebo’s film Tashan’s release, when her ultra-slim body was the talk of the town. The size-zero pizza has a thin crust pizza topped with diced chicken, red chilies, baby corn, onions and low fat cheese.

Bobby Deol

Bobby also has a cake named after it. And it’s simply called Bobby Cake, sold at an eatery in Pali Hill, Mumbai. Bobby Cake comprises a three-tier chocolate cheesecake. The top half is filled with copious amounts of chocolate and equally delicious fruit ingredients in the centre. It’s said to be a favourite at the Deol household.

Ranbir Kapoor

During a promotional visit to Chandigarh for his film Raajneeti, Ranbir went to a dhaba located on the outskirts of the city. Delighted to see his favourite film star drop in at his eatery, the dhaba owner served up a special chicken dish but also named it after the Kapoor scion.

Akshay Kumar

Many actors have had food items named after them but in Akshay’s case, it’s his character from the film Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Dobara that played muse. Some sequences from it were shot in a resort in Oman and this resort launched a special cocktail named Shoaibtini at an event that marked the film’s release.

Deepika Padukone

The Padmaavat beauty recently shared on Twitter that there’s a dosa named after her in Texas and the UK, after which her husband Ranveer Singh announced that he will eat it.
