The year 2018 has been the most memorable for Deepika Padukone. Starting with a mega blockbuster Padmaavat, the actress tied the knot with the love of her life Ranveer Singh towards the end of the year. And if this was not enough, Deepika found her name embedded in Forbes's list of top five richest Indian celebrities. Deepika became the only women to feature in the top five positions among the pool of male actors. The actress was paid more than Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor in Padmaavat. 

With an income of Rs 112.80 crore in 2018, Deepika Padukone found the fourth place in the list. The actress also raced ahead of superstars Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan.

Showcasing the true example of women power, the actress recently opened up about how she felt when she got to know about being featured in Forbes's list. During a Facebook Live, Deepika revealed that initially when she and her team received the email confirming that she is on the list, she reread the email thinking if someone was doing a prank!

The actress said she felt immensely proud for breaking into the top five list as it was something that didn't fall into her lap easily and the actress worked pretty hard for it. The actress added that we need to acknowledge women's contribution in terms of remuneration, be it any field.
