Meryl Streep

shares her beauty secret

With her youthful glow and blemish-free skin, she does not look like a woman approaching her 70s. And although you might assume Meryl Streep’s porcelain skin is the result of her using expensive lotions and potions , the actress’ biggest beauty weapon doesn’t cost a penny. The 68-year-old simply refrains from touching her face to maintain her radiant skin. And the experts agree! Dermatologists say when you touch your face you are transferring germs which can potentially cause infections on the face. And if your skin barrier function is impaired, such as with dry skin or eczema, it can allow organisms to get into the skin. If you have acne, touching your face can make the condition worse and picking your skin can cause spots.

As the season changes from hot to dry, the air is having adverse affects on our skin. The only real protection you need right now is a good moisturiser. Make sure to apply a good amount before you sleep, so it can nourish your skin overnight. And apply plenty in the morning as well to keep your skin hydrated all day long. When your skin is healthy and happy at the base, any product you apply on top also remains put and looks good instead of appearing patchy. So, invest in a lotion that doesn’t just hydrate your skin but also provides it with nourishment. You can substitute cream with olive oil, too, although only at night, as you don’t want your skin to look oily during the day.
