Can’t run around trees anymore: Sanjay Dutt

Sanjay Dutt and his wife Maanayata have forayed into Marathi cinema, and are now producing their first regional film under Sanjay Dutt Productions, which is titled Baba. At the trailer launch for the film, Sanjay said he was happy to be associated with the project. “I am a Marathi maanus born and bred here in Mumbai, so it feels great that through my production house, I am foraying into Marathi filmmaking,” he said.

“We are here to make good content-driven films. But along with making meaningful films, we will also make commercial and entertaining films,” he continued, “If any good role is brought to me by any directors, especially for Marathi films, I would readily love to do it.” When further asked about his love for the film’s title, the actor said that it is a word that everyone knows. “We all know this word ‘baba’; it is very important in our lives. I found this title very intriguing and so we immediately zeroed in on it.” Does this mean that Sanjay will now choose roles keeping his age in mind?

“What do you mean ‘umar ke hisab se? [According to age]’ I am fully aware of the fact that at this age, I cannot run around trees with heroines. I am, and will choose roles that will suit my age,” he concluded laughing.
