Gujranwala based miniature artist breaks world record

A Lahore based miniature sculptor, Ahsan Qayyum, has recently broken an International Sculpting Record for being the longest miniature lead sculpture with his lead chain consisting of 75 links.

“Every chain link took about 1.5 hour to carve. This attempt has 75 links. So, it’s approximately 120 hours work,” he shares, while speaking to MangoBaaz.

Originally from Gujranwala, Ahsan’s story is truly an inspiration for all.

He lost his parents while he was studying and had to support himself since a very early age which is why he moved to Lahore to work in a shoe factory for just 8000 rupees a month. There’s no looking back for him now as he is a professional graphic designer and a miniature artist!

Ahsan, who calls himself an artist by birth, shares that he started sculpting on lead by using a regular pencil with a chart paper-cutting blade and how this has become a very important part of his life.

“Never thought of selling my art. It is so precious and priceless (for me). No one can put a price on it.”
