Pakistani documentary bags an Emmy nomination

Glad tidings for Pakistan as a local documentary titled Armed with Faith has bagged a nomination for an Emmy Award. The documentary revolves around the lives of brave Pakistani men of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bomb Disposal Squad, who face life-threatening circumstances armed with something more than courage.

Co-produced by the two-time Academy Award winner Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy alongside former journalist Haya Fatima Iqbal, Armed with Faith is nominated in Outstanding Politics and Government Documentary category. Filmmakers Asad Faruqi and Geeta Gandbhir have co-directed it. Haya was the first to make an announcement on Facebook. “WE ARE GOING TO THE EMMYS YAY! Our documentary film Armed With Faith tells the story of the lives led by the brave Pakistani men of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bomb Defusal Squad. Asad Faruqi and Geeta Gandbhir have co directed this film with a lot of love, and Asad has shot this film in a way that lends a lot of respect to the people in the film,” she posted.
