Mahira Khan reads for Fatima Bhutto

Mahira khan, who is in spotlight these days for her recently released movie ‘Superstar’ was in London where she accompanied writer Fatima Bhutto at the National Theatre where Fatima was invited by Gary Younge, editor-at-large at The Guardian for a conversation. The actress read from Fatima’s third novel, titled The Runaways which is Fatima’s latest work of fiction, which makes her the first Pakistani actress to perform at the national theatre. Fatima’s literary work has been influenced by politics at large, even has the best-selling debut novel The Shadow of the Crescent Moon to her credit. The writer’s book The Runaways, revolves around topics such as immigration, power dynamics, identity crisis, and radicalisation etc. The book tells the journey of three people in completely different settings, who went through immense personal turmoil. The bollywood obsession with fair skin and Turkish television were among the other topics of discussion in the event.
