Asad Faruqi and Geeta Ganbhir’s Pakistani documentary Armed With Faith won an Emmy for Outstanding Politics and Government Documentary at the 40th Annual News & Documentary Emmy Awards. The award-winning documentary is produced by the two-time Academy Award winner and three-time Emmy Award winner, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy and directed by Asad Faruqi. The documentary portrays the lives of three fearless members of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bomb Defusal Squad. It highlights the troubles and dangers they go through daily in order to save lives, that too with little to no specialised equipment. The film was also screened in Vancouver International Film Festival in 2017 as well as at the Atlanta Film Festival. This is truly a delight for the Pakistani film industry.
