Get ready for another binge-watching session as Netflix drops all eight episodes of the original Spanish series High Seas. The series sees the cast set sail on a luxury ship but not all is as it seems as several murders occur on their voyage. The show is set in the 1940s and is exclusive to Netflix around the world. High Seas follow the story of sisters Carolina and Eva Villanueva, who embark on a journey from Spain to Brazil on a luxury cruise. And in the course of their travel across the high seas, they discover some dark secrets within their family accompanied by disturbing events, murders, conspiracy and a lot more than they had expected. Season one explores the beginning of Eva and Carolina’s journey aboard the luxury vessel, heading to Spain from Brazil, along with 1600 passengers. From accidentally injuring a young woman to being key suspects of her murder, the sisters get entwined in unexpected conspiracies. Taking off from where they left, season two promises a joyride through the vintage grandeur of the elite Spanish family. As the journey continues, more dirty secrets of the Villanueva family unravel, while Eva and Carolina try to protect themselves from being swept away by the dangerous events. The ensemble cast presents some of the most recognised names in Spanish entertainment. Jose Sacristan features as the captain of Barbara de Braganza, the luxury cruise liner, where all the drama unfolds. The deliciously dark supernatural angle adds an extra layer of depth to the show missing the first time around, and although the latter half does feel like it’s running out of steam at times, there’s enough here to keep you watching through to the end.

This is definitely your new binge-watch!
