Its experimental, it’s drama, it’s subtle – this week, we’re feeling extra and here’s what our makeup mood board looks like.

Colour me fierce

Heat up against the winter chills with crimson lips, manifested by Neelo’s Salon with a perfectly thick coat to precede your attitude – it’s all the vogue this season. One could argue this is only true on a mental level, you could always shrug on a layer and keep the temperature up and look fierce. You can always downplay your look with muted eyes or a natural tone, but how about a dark smoky eye to do all the talking for you? Keeping your base colour your natural shade, opt for dark eyes with smoked out corners and a hint of glitter to finish your lids. This winter, we are swooning for fluttering lashes that take your look up a notch and make you blink twice for all those Instagram stories. And how does one ever forget to line their lids? Keep the eyeliner sharp but not too thick, let your eye shadow have its moment. We love daytime blushy winter looks, nothing can up the minimal rosy cheeks but for this glam look, keep the blush understated; it’s time for the classic smoky and deep red lips to stand out.

Here comes the drama

You know that look that earns you all the eyes and attention? Neelos’ Salon channels all that dramatic creativity on the eyes, keeping it sharp and defined. Disclaimer: if your makeup is THAT on point, you’ve earned the slow-mo boomerang. One of the trending colours for the year makes it to our makeup radar. Presenting here: Teal eyes! Set no boundaries for this one and brush on a vivid shade of teal on your lid all the way to your brows. Ditch the eyeliner and blend in black eye shadow for definition. Underline your eyes with teal and fill in the corners in shimmery silver. And you know what to do with the lashes right? Contrast your bold eyes with subtle peachy lips and a swipe a highlighter on your cheekbones for that glow.

The mood is gold

Whether on the crown of Athena’s forehead, or the wrist of Cleopatra, gold is a colour bold enough to make a statement. We will forever love the intensity of a traditional dark smoky eye, but there’s just something oh-so-pretty about gold makeup and how it shimmers in the light. Add this gorgeous shade to your eye makeup and flaunt that pop. It is the ultimate go-to look if you want to stand out at a party. Applying kohl or kajal on your upper and lower water lines intensifies your look. Smudge out the bottom lashline a little bit to soften the look. Now when you have your eye makeup look on point, it’s time to complement it with a pretty red pout. Here’s the thing about classic oxblood lips: Whether they’re paired with jeans and a T-shirt or an evening gown, the effect is all the same – pretty and polished. This is optional, but adding a little shimmer to your lips in order to brighten them up is just going to make the look more complete and well, who doesn’t love some extra sparkle.

Manicure mood: Timeless

We thank the universe for the winning manicure trend, its class and timelessness is a consolidated belief makeup enthusiasts share: matching nails with lips and we are all for it. Uniformity in your whole is personified with a perfectly finished coat of nail colour without the need to overdo your nails with an expensive and elaborate manicure. Keep it matched and your entire look ties together flawlessly.

Falsies of dreams

Is there anything as feminine and chic as thick full lashes that bring out the diva in you? This week, eyes are speaking in Classic False Lashes by Huda Beauty.

Moody shades

From subtle to drama, this palette’s got all your moods covered.

No sharp brows, thanks

Seems like thick eyebrows are a trend that have beaten all sense of timelines; still frequenting on the runway all over the world, we say rock that brow, girl! Chucking out the need to pluck your eyebrows to a perfect arc, opt for a bushy look and fill them in with a brow pencil. We’re feeling elite, so our pick is the exquisite Chanel.
