MIND AND THE GAP

Raise your hand if you know someone who lives with a mental health problem. It might not be something you want to think about, but mental health affects everyone in some way. In fact, one in four of us will suffer with one of the many mental health conditions in our lifetime. "Every day, I post an encouraging message on social media and encourage my audience to get involved with discussion. People all over the world are writing to tell me how much they appreciate and need these words of advice. I want to show people that they are not alone, and social media is the perfect platform to do so. I try and explain thoughts and feelings in a very accessible way, to ensure it can be understood by people of all ages around the world. I want to normalise mental health; it doesn’t need to be scary any more. I’m very open in my posts about my experiences, and my relatable approach has made me easy to open up too. To help just one person is a step forwards in the right direction,” says blogger Charlotte Darbyshire.
