Kylie Jenner after social media backlash donated for Australian bush fire

Kylie Jenner has donated $1 million to relief efforts for the devastating bushfires currently afflicting Australia. The generous donation follows a fierce wave of backlash directed at the beauty mogul. Jenner initially shared a post via her Instagram stories spreading awareness regarding the wildfires and encouraging fans to donate toward relief efforts. Right after the post calling for help, Jenner posted an unfortunately timed image showing off her $1,480 mink fur Louis Vuitton slippers, a not-so-sensitive piece of social media content, considering about half a billion Australian animals have died amid the ongoing devastation. According to People, Jenner meant no ill intent when she posted the image of her slippers and is deeply invested in trying to help however she can with restoring Australia. Jenner’s donation follows suit from her older sister Kim Kardashian West, who responded to a now-deleted tweet from a social media user who claimed that the reality star merely tweeting about the importance of climate change wasn’t equivalent to make an actual donation to relief efforts.
