The seventh edition of the popular Karachi Eat food festival wrapped up, hosting a massive crowd and some 100 plus stalls. Finding the best food at KEAT has got a lot harder now that there's so much to choose from. But we still managed to find our personal favourite. Munching Merchant was certainly a hit for us!

The stallholder Reza Merchant is a food blogger at @MunchingMerchant who also administrates Pakistan’s largest online food forum ‘The Swots Guide’ and plays a vital role in management, operations and strategically managing the digital content of the group as its admin,

The blogger told MAG about his experience as a stallholder at KEAT and what it takes to set up a stall at Karachi Eat Festival as a blogger. According to Merchant, anyone who can offer a product that has never been introduced in the previous KEAT festivals can participate and set up their stall at Pakistan's largest food and entertainment festival for families. “Everything begins with the application form which becomes available four months prior to the event. Once you've submitted the form, KEAT Food Jury calls you for the tasting of your product. If you clear that test, you're in!”

Merchant introduced the Vada Pau at KEAT 2020, a street food from Mumbai. Apart from that, he also offered Masalaydar Aalu and Dhokla alongside homemade chutneys. To ensure top-notch taste, quality and hygiene, everything was cooked fresh at home.

In the history of KEAT, a blogger participated for the first time. “I want to encourage everyone who's not a restaurant owner to participate in such festivals,” said the blogger.
