Shaan-e-Pakistan to be held in Colombo

In a press conference, Shaan-e-Pakistan was announced to be held in the Sri Lankan capital to honour Pakistan’s achievements and showcase our cultural experience in a three-day pop-up exhibition. Helmed by Huma Nasr, the exhibition will take fashion designers, crafters, businesses, artists and musicians to capture the spirit of the country and present it abroad. The press event was attended by celebrities including Komal Rizvi, Humayun Alamgir, Raeth the band and more and the evening was hosted by Hira Hussain. Shaan-e-Pakistan will be held on 21 March till 23.


11th Karachi Literature Festival

The Karachi Literature Festival is celebrating its 11th edition starting from February 28 to March 1. The theme for the much-awaited literature festival is ‘Across Continents: How the Word travels’ which will be unveiling different aspects of how literature is perceived across the globe. Arshad Saeed Husain, Managing Director of the Oxford University Press (OUP) shared that over 200 speakers and authors not only from Pakistan but USA, UK, France, Germany and Italy will also participate, while addressing the media in a press conference. He announced that there will be over 80 sessions featuring panel discussions, mushaira, performing arts, film screenings and readings. Around 22 books will also be launching at the festival including Sindhi and Balochi languages. The KLF Advisory Board also includes esteemed names like Mujahid Barelvi, Iftikhar Arif, Harris Khalique, Salman Tarik Kureshi, Bina Shah and Michael Houlgate. The three-day festivities aims to not only bring significant names from Pakistan’s literary world and academia, but also creative minds from across the borders. Prominent celebrities from the entertainment industry will also attend the festival and contribute to the whole affair. –Rubab Fatima
