Los Angeles county District Attorney Jackie Lacey has announced the establishment of a special sexual assault task force in Hollywood as the number of accusations reported to the police recently have escalated, the media reported. Lacey made the announcement recently as local law enforcement agencies investigate allegations made against Hollywood heavyweights including producer Harvey Weinstein, director James Toback and actor Ed Westwick. The District Attorney said she has assigned a group of prosecutors to work together to examine the cases and "ensure a uniformed approach to the legal review and possible prosecution of any case that meets both the legal and factual standards for criminal prosecution".
