SOC Films, helmed by award-winning filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy and Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahi (ITA) bring their flagship program titled ‘Advancing Action of Adolescent Girls” to South Punjabi in efforts to tackle gender inequality for disadvantaged out of school adolescent girls in three districts of South Punjab, including Muzaffargarh, Bahawalpur and Rahim Yar Khan [ITA hubs]. The series aimed at creating awareness about feminine hygiene issues, girls’ education, financial literacy, self-awareness and nutrition. The films were screened in over 60 towns and villages on mobile cinemas. This initiative empowered many young women to articulate their thoughts, questions and concerns for the very first time.
