What are the three tools in your makeup kit that you can never, ever be without?

I can’t survive without a liquid lipstick, mascara & my favourite, MAC studio fix powder.

What are the three beauty Do’s and Don’ts?

Do’s

1) Always apply sunblock on your skin – doesn’t matter if you’re indoors or outdoors.

2) Wash your face with a gentle cleanser, twice a day.

3) Always moisturise your skin (YES! Even if you have dry skin. Use a water based moisturiser)

Don’ts

1) Don’t exfoliate your skin more than twice a week.

2) Never sleep with makeup on.

3) Do not use layers and layers of foundation ever. It gives you a cakey look and clogs your pores.

Your top five makeup products and why?

For foundations, my favourite is Estee Lauder because it’s the perfect balance between heavy and light. It is super blendable and looks natural. I also love eyebrow pencils. They give life to your brows. In lipsticks, I’d go for Huda Beauty or Kat Von D. Even when you want to step out with a bare face, you can always apply one of these two to give a pop of freshness to your face. Plus point? They’re matte so they’re long lasting. Also, highlighters are my absolute favourite. They add a soft, dewy glow to your face if applied in the right quantity. Last but not the least, Tarte Shape Tape! It’s a stunning, creamy concealer and so easy to work with. Doesn’t matter if you want to cover your dark circles or add a bright look to your face, simply use this and it will do wonders for you.

How does one pick the perfect red lipstick for their skin tone?

The easiest way to determine this is to see if you have a yellow skin undertone or blue. If it’s yellow, you choose a red lipstick which is warm. If your undertone is blue, you choose a red lipstick that is cool and vibrant.

I have five minutes to do my makeup –what can I do that would make the most difference?

Apply a primer that also moisturises your skin. Pat on some concealer to cover any dark circles, set with a translucent powder, add on liquid blush, a brow mascara to keep your brows filled but not too sharp and lastly, a bright lipstick.

One beauty regime you swear by? Except for drinking water?

Detox juice/green juice/ ABC juice/ coconut water helps because it detoxes your body and makes your skin glow.

Moisturiser primer or sunscreen primer. Take your pick?

Moisturiser primer for sure.

Where should the perfect brows start, arch and end?

The key is to find the highest point of your brows first. That will be the arch. The start will be right above your tear duct and end will be right above the ending of the eye. Always fill them lightly and never use an extreme dark colour.

How much highlighter is too much highlighter?

Highlight is a very tricky makeup product, trickiest of all actually. You must softly dab your tapered highlighter brush in the pan and then slowly pat it on the highest points of your face. Remember: always pat/dab, never rub.

Foundation application: Sponge, fingers or brush?

I would always suggest using a beauty blender as it gives a smooth finish. Brushes tend to leave harsh lines and using fingers is extremely unhygienic.

Foundation before eye makeup or eye makeup before foundation?

Eye makeup before foundation – always! It is extremely important to do your eye makeup first so that if your eyeshade falls out, you can always clean it up and then apply your foundation.
