Do you know that sometimes the way you style your hair can make you look oldre, younger for that matter? Yes, your hairdo can make a lot of difference. Just like you have to consider your body shape when selecting apparel, and your complexion when choosing a hair colour, there are a few things to consider when you make a hairstyle, as well. Here are four common hair mistakes that you need to stop making.

Centre parting

Changing your hair parting once in a while is not only good for your hair but also important, as doing so can help avoid bald spots in the future. However, always wearing your hair in centre parting can add years to your age. Instead, try a side parting or a deep side parting for when you keep your hair open.

Dead straight hair

A lot of times, we end up straightening our hair too much. This, again, can make you look older. Dead straight hair looks lifeless and if you have a round or chubby face, it will also look unflattering on you. A little bit of volume on the top is the perfect solution. If you want to wear straight hair, turn the ends inwards to avoid a sharp look and tease your hair a bit at the roots.

Super-sleek ponytail

When it comes to sporting a ponytail, avoid one that is too high and tight. It will put unnecessary strain on your locks and make your face appear bigger. Instead, go for a loose ponytail for an effortless look – the messier the better. Also, you should avoid centre parting with ponytails.

High top knots

A tight top knot has a similar effect to a tight ponytail. Pull out fly aways and strands from either side of your face to soften the look and go for a loose bun or one that is braided for added texture.
