Pizza is one of the universally loved dishes today and known to one and all. From Chicago’s deep dish to thin crust, there are multiple options available. But the question arises, where does one find the best pizza? Well, if you are a true pizza lover, and ready to travel lengths for your food love, then here are four top places in Karachi to have the best pizza! Have a look!

Broccoli Pizza & Pasta

When it comes to pizzas, pastas and burgers, Karachiites are spoilt for choice, offered a whole host of eateries to choose from. Options there are many, but to single the best one out is a task food connoisseurs are always out on the hunt for. Nestled across the becoming food street of Badar commercial is Broccoli Pizza & Pasta. The menu offers a diverse selections of pizzas and pastas, but we were intrigued by the option of make your own. Our server helped us make the selections, we settled for Spicy Chiken Fajita and Bianca from the pizza sections. Broccoli’s Spicy Fajita Pizza was amazing – high on spice and cheesy goodness, we loved how they gave the conventional fajita toppings a reboot by making it spicier, hence mouth-wateringly hot and tasty. We ended our early dinner with their special desserts – Nutella Pizza with Chocolate Chips, featuring thin crust pizza slathered in generous layer of Nutella and garnished with chocolate chips.

Sobremesa

At one point, the eatery’s deep-dish pizza specialty was all any foodie would talk about on social media. Videos of their Chicago-style pizza loaded with cheese and how it was expertly lifted from its tray made rounds on the internet. So, when we ventured into Sobremesa on a noon, their pizza was all we could think about. But more surprises were in store for us. For an eatery, which had early endeavours to keep the menu strictly Spanish, sure has a lot to offer now in the form of Korean bowls, fish specials, pasta, pizza and green bowls etc. But we decided to stick with the Chicago-style deep dish pizza. In an elaborate fashion the server pulled out slices of pizza which made our mouths water. Every bite of it was cheese madness! The spicy chicken paired with crunches of capsicum and creamy chipotle made for a tasty pizza filling.

POMO

Significant time of most Karachiites is dedicated to bickering over a restaurant’s food satiating both taste (and critique) buds. That being said, one such eatery has people divided, with many either loving or downright hating it. With a promise to deliver authentic, simple Italian grub, POMO opened its doors in July 2018. The eatery is spacious, with subway-tiled walls making a monochrome interior. Their kitchen with large glass windows occupies center stage. An unexpectedly large and modern Italian oven has a place of pride in one corner, which is indispensable for the Neapolitan pizza the pizzeria specialises in; which is not your average pizza. The pizzeria even allows you to ‘Create Your Own Pizza’, allowing you to choose from different sauces, many toppings, dairies and add ons. Considering ourselves too Neapolitan-amateur for this feat, we chose Pepperoni pizza from the menu. It’s not your usual spicy pepperoni, it’s quintessentially Neapolitan. The flavour fusion of crushed tomatoes, mozzarella and giardiniera hit the right notes on the taste buds.

Pranzo

Contrary to the restaurant’s name, there is nothing Italian about its new ambience, which is modern yet doesn’t carry any aspect to make you go ‘Italiano!’ However, Pranzo does live up to its promise of an ultimate fine dining experience. Occupying palatial premises in the upscale lane dedicated to high-end restaurants, it is a very popular haunt for young groups. If you happen to swing by, don’t forget to try their Supreme Pizza. It helped punch flavours in our meal; originally served with a combination of chicken tikka and malai boti we insisted our chef to improvise and omit the latter; and the result was delicious. Pickled jalapenos, steamed capsicum, onion olives and spicy pepperoni delivered a spicy, flavourful punch to every bite.
