The show started slow but is quite visually appealing.

Followers is a Japanese web television series, Limi Nara (Miki Nakatani) is a successful photographer and is set to pick up a ‘Women of the Future’ award, and is at the pinnacle of her career, do the project she wants and live the way she wants. However, during a photo shoot, she ended up with a miscarriage and wonders if she’s just not going to have a baby. Natsume Hyakuta (Elaiza Ikeda) is a struggling actress, who only seems to play bleeding corpses. When she waiters at the award show where Limi is getting honoured, her artist buddy Sunny encourages her to hand business cards to the big names in attendance, but Natsu pretty much is petrified of looking like she’s pushy. But when she hears Limi’s speech, where she talks about being where she is now is because she pushed past that fear, it makes her wonder if she’s cut out for this work. The two of them pass each other as they’re looking at lit up cherry blossoms in the park. Natsu’s doing her other job as an Uber Eats driver when she gets a call to be a stand-in on a photo shoot for a chocolate bar ad and guess who is shooting that ad campaign? As Natsu is being treated like garbage by the guy in charge of the shoot, Limi catches her with tears in her eyes. While first episode drag a bit, it was fun to watch the fashions and hairstyles. Of course, the story just got started and there’s a lot that we still have to unpack with this show.
