It’s fine to skip!

Road trip shows are tricky, the idea is that the people on the road find themselves in critical situations but when it’s a series and not a 90-minute movie, the road feels like it’s so long it might not end. Unstoppable is basically a road trip drama where three over privileged women are intercepted by one who is grinding away at life and the four go on a wild adventure that is supposed to shape them for the better. Rocio Alcazar (Barbara Lopez) doing brain surgery; she’s so talented that she’s being awarded a fellowship that will take her to Sweden to study with the world’s best neurosurgeons. Rocio’s friend Vera (Tessa Ia) is anticipating being promoted to fashion director of the website she works for, but is shocked when her rival Yunuen (Silvia Gomez) gets it, she’s so pissed she busts Yunuen’s laptop before storming out. Carlota, a poet who is encouraged by her artist mother to read but just doesn’t think her material is up to snuff and immediately regrets going to the club. The first scene is supposed to set up that all four of them are in the car but Marcela is barely conscious at the back and it’s hard to connect that to her first scene after watching the other three since the start. Perhaps as things get going, Vera and Carlota might find a bit more depth. But all we’re seeing is two spoiled women, one stressed out woman, and one on the run.
