Unfortunately, many of the most delicious treats on supermarket shelves are filled with sugars, preservatives and everything else we're told to eat in small quantities. And whilst it's common knowledge that chocolate isn't the healthiest foods, Cadbury's Creme Eggs are exceptionally indulgent. According to the Cadbury website each 40g Creme Egg contains 177kcal, 6.1g of fat, 3.7g saturates, 0.06g salt and a staggering 26.5g of sugar. But all those numbers don't really mean a lot to most of us, so we thought we would take a look at what that much sugar actually looks like – and it's pretty shocking. The NHS advises anyone over the age of 11 to limit their daily sugar intake to 30g – that's only 3.5g off, so only one tea with one sugar in for the rest of the day. As way of comparison, a KitKat has 10.6g, Aero 25g, and a normal bar of Dairy Milk has 25g. And whilst some people are outraged, it won't stop others from digging in. People on social media have been voicing their shock at finding out just how sugary they really are. One person said, "This is how much sugar is in one little creme egg, imagine that, no more nice teeth for you". Another said, "Wowsers! That’s A LOT of sugar. I love a creme egg but this is shocking.”
