High On Hues

Give a contemporary touch to the traditional craft and incorporate eastern patterns with bold design elements. Embellish your western-cut dress with pearls, chunky stones and encrusted embroideries to give it an ethnic feel. Get inspired from floral shades of chrysanthemum, wild roses and lotus, and let the colours spread on fine, geometric and digitally printed fabrics like chiffon and lawn.

Stock up your wardrobe with an enriching colour palette of bright and deep hues. If your fabric is apparently simple and sober, have it cut in a fusion style to make it look high-street. On the other hand, you could also keep the cut simple and instead, mix in prints inspired by bold botanical elements with a fusion of modern ornaments on a blend of lawn, chiffon and silk to make the dress look refreshing. Don’t forget to add accessories to your outfit to spruce up your look - delicate and embellished, bold and solid, waist belts are a rage these day. These can turn an outfit from ethnic to fusion in no time while making you look super stylish. Spunky jewellery seems to be making a comeback. Knuckle rings, cage earrings, pearl droplets, statement chokers, are all pieces you should get your hands on, if you don’t own them already. Finish off your look for the evening with subtle heels, as you would already have much going on with your dress in terms of colour, cut and design, and sport a minimalist clutch or handbag.
