Summer Shades & Silhouettes

Flared silhouettes, neutrals, bolds, and everything hot this summer!

Summer dresses are a staple in our closets. They allow seamless transitions from our offices to formal gatherings. This summer, we’ve spotted a silhouette that is scoring some serious face time from bloggers to A-listers, the ultra-feminine, flared silhouette.

If fitted dresses aren’t your thing and you’d rather go long and flowy, you’re in luck because the flared silhouette is a major trend for the 2020 summer! Rigid, form-fitting notions of style are being tossed aside this season. Flared silhouettes have been around forever and are making a comeback in the high fashion world this summer. It's a design that looks equally as great on all shapes and sizes and is completely age appropriate for women from their teens to their 80s. A garment in this silhouette is narrow at the top and widens towards the hem in a gradual manner smoothing out awkward lines and curves of the body and hence flatters most body shapes.

Apart from flowy, flared silhouettes, whites in summers is a trend that is here to stay. To us, summer style should be easy and feel effortless. The weather is warm, the sun is out and the days are longer, and in such a weather, we totally tend to gravitate towards white. Summer is awash with white in every shade, from ivory and eggshell to brilliant and magnolia. It may seem a little intimidating at first – with the potential for coffee, ketchup and lipstick spills and smudges – but it's actually a pleasantly fresh and chic colour to wear.

Pastel hues may rule summers every year, but the versatility of white – worn top-to-toe or as the standout piece in your outfit – should secure its place in your wardrobe. And much like black, it goes with nearly every print, colour and texture under the sartorial sun.

While our outfits tend to stay on the more neutral side this summer, there’s nothing like a bold pop of colour to brighten up your summer wardrobe! There’s something about putting on a bright colour that instantly makes things feel more light and fun.
