The 24th annual MTV EMAs recently took over London’s larger-than-life SSE Arena, Wembley amidst an evening full of musicians, singers, entertainers and world-class performers. The award’s evening was kicked off by Eminem with a performance of his single Walk On Water and was hosted by pop superstar Rita Ora who also performed at the show and had already turned heads with her epic style sense flaunting her bathrobe look for the night. The EMAs are as much about fans as they are about their favourite artistes. Here, the fans determine who deserves tow in the coveted trophy by voting in their favourite musician’s favour weeks prior to the star-studded result night. The rocking ceremony saw Shawn Mendes, a Canadian artiste bag four awards, while despite a rumoured performance, as well as six nominations to her credit, Taylor Swift went back home empty-handed. Stormzy, The Killers, Kesha, David Guetta and Travis Scott lit up the show with their wonderful performances, while U2 were bestowed with the Global Icon award. From Los Angeles to Sydney, fans from around the world followed the event and participated in the glitzy night’s celebrations via livestreams and social media.
