Diana, a musical based on the life of Princess Diana, will make a pit stop at Netflix prior to its official Broadway bow. The original stage production was one of many required to close before opening night due to the COVID-19 shutdown of Broadway. Now, a filmed version of Diana will hit Netflix before its new May 25, 2021 premiere on the Great White Way. The filmed version of Diana will reportedly be performed without an audience, making it the first Broadway show to return to the stage in any form since the pandemic. It also makes history as the first Broadway production to appear on TV before opening night. Actress Jeanna de Waal will play the titular role of Princess Diana in the musical.
